Informant was cooperative. Information seems reliable.
MILITARY HISTORY:Inducted 10 Aug 50 at SARI WON (沙里院) and was attached to training unit. Received 8 days of basic training. On 18 Aug 50 approx 2,000 recruits departed SARI WON and arrived 15 Sep 50 at YONG CHON (永泉) by train and by foot during night. When they arrived their number had been reduced to 1,500 due to illness and desertions. Here they were told that they were the 303 unit. There was another unit also attached to the 105 Tank Div but details are unknown. 1,000 men were armed with 4 IMGs, submachine guns (72 rds each) and rifles with 30 rds each.
Remainder were armed with rifles at OSAN (烏山).
17 Sep 50 the 303 Unit departed for OSAN by train, motor cycles and on foot, and arrived on 28 Sep 50. They dug in but when US arty opened Up Subject became frightened and fled toward NAM YANG.
PW found a surrender leaflet and on 29 Sep 50 surrendered to the US Troops at NAM YANG.

FOREIGN ELEMENTS:At P‘YONGYANG on 11 Aug 50 Subject observed 3 Russian civilians. Before Subject was inducted he heard there were CCF Elements somewhere in North Korea.
