2. ASSESSMENT
PW dull and seemed to have difficulty in answering questions. Appeared that his faculties were such that he was unable to remember simple incidents and experiences; not purposely evasive.
Information seems unreliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
Conscripted AUG 36 at CH’INGTAO and attended CNA Military Police School at CH’INGTAO.
Graduated Oct 47. Assigned to 23d Regt, MP Hq NANKING.
Remained there for 2 years, with MP duties.
Captured by CCF with entire 23d Regt, 20 Jan 50 at YUNNAN SHENG(雲南省).
Regiment taken to HONAN SHENG(河南省) where engaged in agricultural labor. Departed Aug 50 and arrived TUNGMAN(東滿) 25 AUG 50.
23d regiment used as replacements for 38th Army Sep 50 at TUNGPEI, LIAOHSI SHENG (遼西省).
38th Army departed for KOREA Nov 50 via MANPOJIN (BA7259). Passed through unk places and arrived in the 38th parallel area.
Regt last seen retreating 8 Mar 51, when PW deserted his united to surrender.

b. Location and Activities of Unit:
341st Regt mission was to defend north side of Han River.

c. T/O & E of Unit:
38th Army: 112th, 113th, and 114th Div.
114th Div: 340th, 341st and 342d Regt, guard bn, propaganda unit, arty bn and engr co.
341st Regt: 3 rifle bn, guard co, propaganda unit (political unit) mortar co.
Each Mortar Co: 3 mortar plat and hq plat.
Each Mortar Plat: 3 sqd.

Food received from MANCHURIA, and also procured locally in sufficient amounts.

Morale low due to Constance air attacks and lack of equipment.

f. Psychological Warfare:
Surrendered voluntarily because of alleged dislike of communist and combat.
Read leaflets many time and believed contents.
No conversation overhead pertaining to leaflets.
