a. Chronology:
25 Jul 50 - Conscripted at INCH'ON. Assigned to 6th Div, Training Unit. Received one month basic training.
Nov 50 - Arrived KARYOJU (CT 2891). Deserted unit here but apprehended by 8th Ind Regt (NKA) and assigned as a rifle man, Heard that 38th Ind Regt transferred into 8th Regt to fill Regt TO. Heard II Corps being reorganized at KARYOJU.
Nov 50 - 8th Regt (1,120 men) departed KARYOJU.
Nov 50 - Regt arrived ICH'ON. Regt received winter clothing here.
Dec 50 - Departed ICH'ON.
Dec 50 - 8th Ind Regt assigned to 2d Div, II Corps, and renamed 6th Regt at HAIL-LI, 20 km N of HANAM-NI (DS 3796).
20 Dec 50 - 6th Regt arrived PUNGAM-NI (DS 2841) via SANGAM-NI (DS 3592), CHOLGOL (DS 2982).
12 Feb 51 - Arrived HAIL-LI (DS 4338) via UNGYO-RI (DS 3942), YUDONG-NI (DS 2559). During Jan 2d Div suffered heavy casualties from UN air and arty bombardment. 6th Regt transferred into 4th Regt to fill 4th Regt T/O. 31st Div, II Corps, transferred to 2d Div and renamed 6th Regt. Heard the replacement called “51st Regt” by battalion political officer.
12 Feb 51 - Div departed HAI-LI.
25 Feb 51 - 4th Regt arrived SAMTOKOL. PW deserted.
1 Mar 51 - Captured by ROK 7th Div.

15 Feb 51 in vicinity of PYONGCHANG 4th Regt received 3-4 grenades and 300 rd of small arms ammo per man. Ammo supplies had been carried by civilian laborers from the division supply section.
