1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was wounded in the back and still groaning thus giving little information. He was taken prisoner while hiding in a foxhole. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Mission:
8th Co was to repel UN Forces advancing North across TWINNANMUL River from their dug-in position on east side of the road.

b. Strength of Unit:

c. Chronology:
Aug 45 - Volunteered into Nationalist Amy.
Feb 49 - Conscripted into CCF at KALGAN (張定口).
Nov 50 - Crossed MANCHURIA and entered KOREA (66th Army).
Jan 51 - 66th Army crossed 33th Parallel.
end of Jan 51 - 591st Regt was in KUNHWA but mission was unknown the PW.
26 Feb 51 - 8th Co left 3d Bn in mountains 2 Km N of the place PW was captured. 8th Co marched south to vicinity of DS 0949 and dug in.

d. Weapons and Equipment: 8th Co.
2 x 82mm Mortars
3 LMG with 800 rd each.
3d Bn: 2 x 82mm Mortars.
2 HMG
197th Div had 2 x 45mm field pieces when they left KUNHWA Jan 51. Approximately 10 horses to 591st Regt.

e. Status of Supply; Route of Supply:
Ammo - Heard that Plat leader that ammo was plentiful at Div Hq but no transportation to get it to front line.
Food - No resupply.
Clothing - No resupply.
Shelter - Sleep in foxholes, fearing air-attacks.

f. Morale:
Due to lack of food and severe coldness, soldiers morale is getting low day by day. There are many soldiers who want to desert and go home to CHINA but the bridge at YALU River is so well guarded, that even if they deserted, they cannot go back.
Air attacks most feared by enemy.

g. Tactics:
Hand to hand combat in their specialty but with scarcity of men they are not able to put up suicide charges.
