2. ASSESSMENT:
Cooperative but not too much information concerning his Regt.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
(a) Chronology:
He was inducted in the N Korean Army on 16 July 1950 and attended the Tank training school in HEIJO N KOREA for 20 days. After graduating from the school on 5 August, he was immediately assigned to the 47th Tank Regiment stationed at SUWON, and was designated as C.O. of the Independent Light Company of the 47th Regt. He deserted from the unit on 21 Sep because he did not want to fight, and surrendered himself to an American Unit on 21 Sep.

(b) Unit organization and strength:
The 47th Tank Regiment consists of 3 Tank Bns. and 1 Independent Light Tank Company. The strength of the Regiment is estimated as 500 officers and enlisted men. His Company had only 25 enlisted men with 4 officers.
Last known composition of Unit: At the time source left his Unit the entire Regiment was stationed on a hill located approximately 1 Kilometer north of SUWON city area.

(c) Equipment:
Source stated that the entire Regiment had only 5 medium tanks (T34 Russian) and one (1) ton trunk (U.S. ton truck). The independent Tank Company has no tanks at all. Every man had a Russian rifle (MI941 and MI942) 100 rds of Ammunition were issued to each individual soldier. No other weapons or equipment.

(d) Intention: To secure SUWON area

(e) Communication: There were two telephones (field type) in the Regiment C.P. but they were not in use.

(f) Knowledge of other Unit:
He did not see any Unit other than his Regiment in the area.

(g) Personalities:
He never saw or heard of the Regiment Commander.
