2. ASSESSMENT:
Cooperative and answered questions freely during interrogation. Very poor memory and lacked tactical information. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
Departed KAIYUEN, China Aug 50 with 337th Regt. 21 Dec 50, 2nd Bn only, crossed YALU River into MANPOJIN from CHIAN, MANCHURIA.
O/a 29 Jan 51, arrived at CS454335, by passing through the following places: HUICHON (BV6849) 7 Dec 50, KUJANG DONG (BV4517) 29 Dec, and here engaged by UN Forces whom they dispersed. 5 Jan 50 crossed 38th parallel at 7 Jan 51, along N bank of the HAN River, bivouaced for about 2 weeks, then marched to CS454335. Crossed the HAN River over ice. 4 Feb 51, engaged by UN forces and PW captured.

b. Organization and Strength:
PW were in 38th Army, composed of 3 Div of which PW knew only the 113th Div. 339th, 338th and PW 337th Regt composed 113th Div. Unfamiliar with strength of any units except their own 5th Co, which had approx 70 men at time of capture.

c. Deployment of PW Unit:
3rd Plat was assigned to guard 5th Co CP which, as of 4 Feb 51, was located approx 100 yards E of CS454335 where they were captured. Did not know the location of the Bn or other CP.

d. Status of Arms, Ammo, Supply & Equipment:
75% of the PW company were armed, as follows:
2 US LMG with 500 rd of ammo each.
12 US M-1 rifles with 100 rd of ammo each.
5 US M-3 SMG with unk amount of ammo.
Russ Pistols (5) with 50 rd each.
3 US Carbines with 50 rd ammo each.
Also 2 Hand Grenades per man.

f. Medical:
There were only two known cases of frostbite, which were sent to the rear.

g. Morale:
Morale in PW Co was very low because subjected to daily bombing and strafing. Moved only at night and after reaching destination, put to work digging fox-holes in frozen ground.

h. Surrender Leaflets:
PW read surrender leaflets day before captured. Everyone wanted to surrender, however, they did not express their feelings for fear of being caught by their superiors.
