2. ASSESSMENT:
PW is feverish with a cold and is disinterested in interrogation. PW is very weak on observation and estimates of distance and time are terrible. PW was unable to pin point his birthplace or adjacent towns. Sketch and report given by the PW are unreliable.

3. CHRONOLOGY:

PW was born and lived in TAHSING TS’UN (Approx 43°-129°) (大奧村) until 1948. Then was drafted into CCF unit composed of 1500 Koreans. PW received basic training at T’UNHUA (敦化) for 5 mo. PW was sent by train to CHILIN then on foot to SSU-PING (四平). From here by train via CHIANG CH’UN (長春) to KWANG-CHOU (廣州) and to LEICHOU peninsula (富州半島) to CHENG-CHOU (鄭州), CHINA. After one month PW departed by rail to SINUIJU (新義州) KOREA.

TUNHUA (敦化)

Obs: Apr 48

AIRFIELD
PW claims there was an airfield under reconstruction 800m WSW of RR Station. Part of the middle of the runway was damaged by Russian bombing during WW II. Two hangars on south end were also half demolished. PW did not see planes using these hangars or runway.
PW received basic training at this field.

5. PULP MILL

Obs: Apr 48

PW observed pulp mill on occasion when going for firewood. The pulp mill is located 2km WSW of RR Station. PW does not know the source of supply or distribution point. (See sketch)

6. ECONOMIC

LUMBER MILL
PW claims there is a lumber mill 500m SSE of RR Station. The log supplies were floated down river and were about 70cm in diameter. (Hearsay) PW heard the finished lumber was shipped to CHI-LIN by rail. PW guesses the number of employees as about 30. The mill was constantly running during daytime for the 5 mo when PW was going through basic training (See Sketch)
