2. ASSESSMENT:
The PW was stupid and frequently made contradictory statements. His memory seemed to be very poor. Reliability, poor.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
Nov 44 - Entered MANCHURIA to reunite with his father.
Nov 44 - May 46 - HSINKIKG (新京) attended Primary School.
May 46 - Jul 49 MUKDEN (奉天). Employed as a hospital attendant (private hospital) until Nov 48 and then entered the Korean Volunteer Force which was known as 166th Div. He served as an aidman in the medical center until Jul 49.
Jul 49 - Arrived at SINUIJU (新義州) with 166th Div.
Sites observed at MUKDEN (奉天), MANCHURIA.

CCF Billets:
Obs: May 46 - Jul 49
Location: The CCF billets were located 10 km E of the RR Station and 4 km E of the N MUKDEN RR Station.
Description: The CCF billets, former Chinese Nationalist Training Center, was situated in an area 2 km x 1 km enclosed by a brick wall 2.5 m high. Although PW entered the compound several times in 48, exact number of buildings could not be given; however there were approx 50 brick buildings of which l/3 were two story. The buildings each measured 50 m x 25 m.
Personnel: PW never entered the compound after CCF took it over in Oct 48, therefore strength of the CCF with the compound was not known. He stated the unit was believed to be infantry as all of them carried rifles.
Neither epaulets nor numerical designation were observed. The highest ranking officer was not known.
Most of the EM were between the ages of 18 and 30 and one to four years in the service.
Training of the CCF was never observed by the PW.
Equipment: None observed except rifles. No further information.

Possible Locomotive Manufacturing Plant:
Obs: May 46 - Jul 49-(external view only)
There were three brick walled enclosures each measuring 1 km x 1 km. The enclosures were 100 meters apart. Number and size of buildings in each enclosure could not be given; however, he stated that the majority of the buildings were wooden structures. He heard from one of his comrades who guarded the plant that locomotives (type unknown) were being produced in the plant. Parts of locomotive were also heard to be produced here. Production rate was not known. A spur line led to each enclosure from the main RR station. No further details.

Sociological data:
When MUKDEN came under the Chinese Communist Government, old currency was completely abolished and new currency was issued. The system of conversion of currency was not known.
PW stated that living conditions improved considerably when the Chinese Communist Government came into power.
