b. Unit Disposition:
Entire plat came down from hill 327 (CS461465) and surrendered 161300 Feb 51. 4th Co was approx 400 meters W of plat position. 2d Bn was located approx 800 meters W of plat position. 14 Feb 51 340 Regt Hq located approx 3 km to rear of Bn Hq. 15 Feb 51 1st Bn located around hill 327 (CS461465). 14 Feb 51 3d Bn was on hill west of road approx 3 km W of plat position. PW surrendered. His plat followed approx an hour later.
c. Unit Mission:
Plat was to prevent soldiers from retreating. This order was given to him by his company commander 16 Feb 51. Does not know company mission. His Bn mission was to envelope UN forces coming from front.
d. Other Units:
Heard 10 Feb 511 that 341 Regt in rear of 340th Regt, approx 3 km apart, and PW saw 342d Regt approx 3 km E of 341st Regt. Heard 14 Feb 51 from Bn commander 113th Div approx 8 km E of 114th Div and 112th Div approx 8 km NE of 113th Div. 10 Feb 51 saw elements of 50th Army approx 8 km W of place of capture, CS 461465.

Plat 1 x 60mm mortars
Co 2 x 60mm mortars and 6 LMG
Bn 4 x 60mm mortars
Regt 2 Hvy mortars, cal unk
f. HAN River crossing:
Crossed HAN River about 12 days ago vic E of SEOUL over ice on foot.
g. Bridging Equipment
Saw bridging equipment at time of IMJIN River crossing but did not see any on HAN River.
h. Effect of night air strike:
Night air strikes cause about 20% of casualties. Day air strikes cause 60% of the casualties.
i. Effect of arty fire:
Day arty fire causes much damage and is feared most.
j. Food:
He has not eaten for 3 days and food is insufficient.
k. Medical:
60% of unit is affected with varying degrees of frostbite. No cases of typhus or small pox.
