e. Morale:
For four reasons; 1) under fed, 2) inadequate clothing, 3) hardship through cold climate and 4) fear of UN air and Arty strikes, morale was extremely low.
Surprised to find US troops when captured. CCF are completely ignorant of fact that they are facing US troops. Consequently, compelled to believe enemies were foreigners, Puppet Army of Syngman RHEE. He adds with interest, if the 18,750 former CNA troops presently serving with NANHAIPU knew they are opposing US, all would gladly surrender instead of hiding in foxholes, uncertain of their cause as participants in this terrible war.
