2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was intelligent, well educated. Apparently not a Communist. Knows little of MANCHURIA except vicinity of CHILIN. Reliability, fair.
PW lived in CHILIN, MANCHURIA for 8 years. Attended CHILIN Middle School. Returned to NK Sep 45.

HYDRO ELECTRIC PLANT
Obs: 1944 (PW worked in plant)
Location: On SUNGARI River, near CHILIN (43°eq’N - 126°40’E)
Dam was started in about 1935 and was nearly completed 1945. Five generators, Japanese and German, supplied current to MUKDEN, HARBIN, HSINGXING and TUMEN (圖們). The Russians removed part of this equipment.

AIRFIELD, CHILIN
Obs: 1945
Location: 43°55’N - 126°32’E (N of CHILIN) (see attached sketch)
Description: Two interesting runways, each one km long. Surface is asphalt on cement. No buildings seen.
