PW was wounded in the shoulder and seems to be in pain. PW seems sincere but was hazy and was unable to give clear answers. Information seems fairly reliable.
The 9th Division was composed of 3 Rifle Regiments, 1 Division Artillery Regt, 1 x 45 mm Gun Bn, and 1 Transportation Co.

Most of the men with the 9th Division at present saw combat with the division at the NAKTONG River. As of 6 Dec 50, all Arty Regt troops were armed with small arms and were used as infantry.
PW heard during the middle of Nov 50 that the 9th Division Headquarters was located near CHOKHYON DONG (CT 4817).
On 6 Dec 50, the 1st Regt, 9th Division was located in the vicinity of CT 3909 with the mission of defending the road leading from CHONGONG NI (CT3109) to KUMHWA (CT 6538). The 1st Regiment was attacked on 6 Dec 50 by ROK troops.
HEARSAY: On 6 Dec 50, the 2nd Regt, 9th Division was located in the vicinity of CT 4710.
The 3rd Regt, 9th Division was believed to be located near CHOKHYON DONG as a Division reserve on 6 Dec 50.
PW heard o/a 1 Dec 50 that CCF units have arrive at an area approx 12 Km North of CHORWON (CT 4335).
PW heard from his company commander that after the CCF reaches the 9th Division area, the 9th Division is to attack south with the CCF.
PW was inducted into the NKA at WONSAN during Jul 50. PW was assigned to the 9th Division at KAESONG during Jul 50.
The 9th Division participated in combat at the NAKTONG River during the period from Aug 50 to Sep 50.
The 9th Division in Sep 50 retreated to KUMHWA, passing the following places: HYOPCHON (DQ 2336), KUMCHON (DQ 2297), KUMSAN (錦山), SO PAEK Mountain Range (小百山脈), TANYANG (潭陽), INJE (DT 2713).
The 9th Division arrived at the KUMHWA (CT 6538) area o/a 5 Nov 50. After arriving at the KUMHWA area, the 9th Division patrolled the roads and railroads in this area until Dec 50.
On 6 Dec 50, the 1st Regt, 9th Division was attacked by ROK troops near CT 3909. PW was wounded and captured at 061400 1 Dec 50.

Food was obtained locally from each village "MYON" (面) People's Committee.
Ammo was acquired by salvaging ammo which had previously been discarded by transportation vehicles during air attacks. At present this was the only means of getting any ammo. Ammo supply was critically low in the 9th Division.
Morale of the 9th Division troops was generally low because they believe that they were isolated.
Having been subjected to false propaganda for so long, the majority of the troops refused to believe that the CCF is in this war.
