PW was cooperative and spoke freely. Reliability: Fair.
3. MILITARY HISTORY:28 Jul 50: Inducted at SINP'O (新浦) and assigned to 507th Brig, 6th Bn.
15 Aug 50 : 800 men of the 6th Bn departed SINP'O and travelled to KAPSAN (甲山) via PUKCHONG and PUNGSAN (豊山). Remaining 200 departed for CHONGJIN (淸津).
10 Nov 50: 500 of the 800 departed KAPSAN for MUSAN (茂山). Remaining 300 travelled to PUKCHONG on foot via UNGGI (雄基), HANDAE-RI (漢垈里), UNSAN (雲山), CHASO-MYON (慈城面) (3 Dec), SAMDOK (山德) (4 Dec), CHUNGPYONGJANG (仲坪場) (5 Dec), and PUNGSAN (7 Dec).
9 Dec 50: Arrived PUKCHONG at 0400 hrs and was never engaged enroute. 0900 hrs: 300 men of 6th Bn engaged and withdrew at 1000 hrs after suffering loss of about 30 men. PW captured during engagement.
4. ORGANIZATION, STRENGTH & WEAPONS:6th Bn, 507th Brig on 9 Dec 50 at PUKCHONG had a complement of 300 men and was composed of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Cos; each Co consisted of about 90 men. Weapons were 6 LMGs and each man was armed with a rifle.
5. LOCATION OF OTHER UNITS:From the time the above elements of the 6th Bn departed PUNGSAN (7 Dec), the 1st Bn, 507th Brig followed at a distance of approx 8 km. Strength of the 1st Bn was slightly in excess of 400 men. Their weapons were 4x60mm mortars, 6 HMGs, and each man armed with rifles. This unit had 4 trucks. No other units were observed by PW.
