PW had difficulty in answering questions and frequently contradicted his answers and at times talked incoherently, PW was very poor in estimating dimensions and distances and appeared unobservant or unintelligent. Reliability, poor.

Feb 47 - Ap CHIAN-HSIEN (輯安縣), MANCHURIA, Inducted into the CCF Security Guard Unit 5 Mar 47. Prior to this date subject was a farm hand.
11 Apr 49 - 7 Apr 50: MUKDEN (奉天), MANCHURIA. Transferred from CHIAN-HSIEN (輯安縣) go guard the SW sector of MUKDEN.
12 Apr 50 - 27 Aug 50: P'YONGYANG (平壤), KOREA. Engaged in military training prior to outbreak of present conflict.

Location:
Approx 3 km NW of the main RR station.
Observation:
PW walked by this center frequently. Observation was made from a distance of about 30 m.
Area:
Estimated to be about 250 m square, enclosed by a 1,5 m high barbed wire fence.
Buildings:
There was one 2 story red brick building, 100 x 30 m, with galvanized iron gabled roof. There was one 1 story red brick building, 20 x 10m, used as a mess hall, and one 1 story red brick building 6 x 2 m, used as a wash room.
Training:
Approx three companies were engaged in physical training and the manual of arms. There were six (6) horizontal bars, four (4) low hurdles and broad jump lanes and one high jump pit. The training also included working at nearby farms.
Period of Training:
The training cycle lasted approx two (2) months. The replacements were sent to the front immediately upon completion of training.
Weapons:
Weapons observed here included Japanese rifles mode "99" and four (4) machine guns, which were also Japanese. Type and model of machine gun unknown.
Strengths:
This RTC capacity was about one Bn.

Approx 2 km NE of the main RR station at the edge of the city.
Observations:
PW was stationed here for 1 year.
Area:
The area was about 100 m square enclosed by a 2 m high barbed wire fence. One sentry was stationed at the main entrance.
Buildings:
There was one 1 story red brick building, 70 x 25 x 4 m with galvanized iron gabled roof (painted black) used as a quarters. One 1 story red brick building, 30 x 10 x 5 m with galvanized iron gabled roof (painted black) used as a mess hall and one 1 red brick building, 5 x 3 x 2 m used as a washroom.
Strength:
The unit strength was about one company.
Weapons:
Personnel were armed with Japanese model "99" rifles. In each platoon there were three Japanese, magazine fed, 7.6 mm automatic rifles. Each magazine held 30 rounds and was inserted from the top.
Duty:
This unit patrolled NANSHIHMALU (南十馬路) Street and NANPAMALU (南八馬路) Street. The purpose of this patrolling was to safeguard the area from burglars and Chinese Nationalist spies. There were twelve patrols of three men each. Each relief patrolled for 2 hours. There were also three men posted at three different intersections. This unit also sent men to work on nearby farms to earn their rations. This unit considered patrol duty as a rest day for their men.
Cultural Training:
Everyday from 1030 to 1130 the cultural officer gave a lecture on Communism and Western Imperialism.
