PW was cooperative rd spoke without hesitation, He was intelligence and could estimates distance and direction fairly accurately. His memory seemed to have faded a little. However, he was ■…■, therefore, this information is considered fairly reliable.

4. ARMED FORCES:
AIRFIELD             ■…■
Pvt                D/O 1938-1945
LOCATION:
Approximately 1 km NNW of the HSINCHING Main RR station.
OBSERVATION:
During the period from 1938 to 1945, PW went to see and exhibition flight at this airfield once a year.
AREA:
This airfield covered an area of about 1 km x 2 km enclosed by a 2.5 meter high barbed wire fence. This was a rectangular grassy airfield running east to west.
RUNWAYS:
Does not remember how many runways there were nor the dimensions. Believed that the runways were concrete, extending east to west.
HANGAR:
There was one hangar at the east end of the field. (PW saw this hangar from a distance of about 1 km so could not give dimensions).
ENTRANCE TO THE AIRFIELD:
There were two entrances to this airfield. One was from the west side and the other from the north side.
GUARDS:
There were guards with rifles at each entrance and about 3 roving guards inside the field.

METEOROLOGICAL        HSIN-CHING (新京), MANCHURIA
Pvt                D/C Apr 35 – Feb 40
LOCATION:
Approx 4 km SSE of the HSIN-CHING Main RR Station and 2 km HSIN-CHING of the South HSINCHING RR Station (新京■■埸).
OBSERVATION:
While attending middle school, which was 200 m north of the meteorological station, observed the exterior of this station during the period from Apr 36 to Feb 40.
AREA:
This station covered an area of 200 m x 200 m enclosed by a 3 m high barbed wire fence.
BUILDING:
It was a round, red brick building.
PW never entered this meteorological station so does not possess any detailed information.

FORMER KWANTUNG ARMY HQ  HSINCHING (新京), MANCHURIA
Pvt                D/O Mar 40 – Aug 45
LOCATION:
Approximately 1 km south of HSINCHING Main RR Station.
OBSERVATION:
While going to and from work, observed the exterior of this building from a distance of 400 m.
AREA:
The HQ covered an area of about 500 m x 1 km. Enclosed by a 3 m red brick wall. Because of the 3 m brick wall around this area, PW does not know how many buildings were in this area. However, he saw one main building.
BUILDING:
It was a 25 m x 35 m x 30 m high 6-story square stone building with copper gable type roof. PW was never inside the wall so he does not possess information concerning the interior.
No further information.

5. ECONOMIC:
CHEMICAL LABORATORY     HSINCHING (新京), MANCHURIA
Pvt                D/O May 41 – Mar 43
LOCATION:
Approximately 3 km south of HSINCHING Main RR Station (新京本驛).
OBSERVATION:
Observed this chemical laboratory once a week during the period from May 41 to Mar 43 while going to and from the park. The laboratory covered an area of 150 m x 300 m, enclosed by a fence similar to the sketch below.
BUILDING:
It was a 25 m x 30 m x 20 m high 5-story red brick building with flat roof. PW has never been in this chemical laboratory so detailed information is not available.
