2. ASSESSMENT:
PW talked freely and was cooperative. PW was of average intelligence. PW was not too observant. Reliability - fair.

Chronology:
Apr 42 - Graduated from HSIA Primary School (西塔在滿國民學校) 6 yr.
Jun 42 - Employed at telegraph and telephone stock company as a repairman.
Dec 44 - Employed at CHINKO (新興) machine manufacturing plant as a machine parts inspector.
Jan 46 - Employed at SHNCHANG (三昌) rubber plant.
Mar 46 - Established own bicycle shop.
Oct 46 - Employed at TOHOKU PLATING ARSENAL (東北電鍍工廠)
Apr 47 – Worked at rice refinery.
Dec 47 - Volunteered for the Chinese Nationalist Army. Assigned to 6th Army, 207th Div.
Oct 48 - Captured by Chinese Communist Army after battle with CCF. Entered PW camp at MUKDEN (奉天).
Aug 50 - All the Korean PW in MANCHURIA were sent into North KOREA and immediately forced into the North Korean Army. Assigned to 6th Div, 657th Regt, 1st Bn, 2d Co, 2d Plat, 4th Sqd.

5. ECONOMICS
ELECTRIC SUB-STATION       MUKDEN (奉天)
Pvt                  D/O 1944 - Aug 50
The Electric Sub-Station was located about 2 km NE of North MUKDEN (奉天) RR Station.
PW observed this Electric Sub-Station frequently from the outside during his stay in MUKDEN (奉天).
Area occupied by the Sub-Station was about 200 m x 100 m enclosed by 3 m high brick wall.
There was one 150 m x 20 m x 30 m, red brick bldg with partly flat roof and partly galvanized iron gable roof. North end of this bldg (ref to sketch #1) was used as an office and the rest of the bldg was being used as an electric power relay or distribution station.
There was an unknown number of transformers installed on the NW side of the area. Size of transformers was unknown.
6 - ½ in electric power lines led into the distribution bldg from the South and led out towards the North. These power Mines were supported by approx 18 m high steel high tension towers. (Ref Sketch #1).
This Electric Sub-Station was said to be the biggest Sub-Station in MUKDEN (奉天).
Voltage of electric power lines was unknown.

SHENYANG (瀋陽) ARSENAL      MUKDEN (奉天)

PW observed the above mentioned arsenal from a distance only once; however, heard from a fellow who was employed at the arsenal, that they were producing 7.7 mm type 99 Japanese rifle ammunition and an unknown type hand grenade. Production capacity was unknown.
Above plant's official name was said to be SHENYANG ARSENAL (瀋陽兵器廠). Further details not obtainable. (Ref to Sketch #2).

7. ARMED FORCES
SOUTH MUKDEN (南奉天) AIRFIELD  MUKDEN (奉天)
Pvt                  D/O Mar 49 - Jul 50
South airfield was located approx 2 km SSW of South MUKDEN RR Station and about 6 km SW of North MUKDEN RR Station.
PW observed the airfield from a distance of about 1 km white residing in MUKDEN.
Three galvanized iron dome shaped hangars, painted black, were observed on the northern part of the airfield.
PW stated that an unknown number of US made P-51 and Curtiss twin engine transports were flying over the field everyday.
At the present time, this airfield is being used by Chinese Communist Air Force (as of Jul 50). Insignia on the aircraft was:
During this stay is MUKDEN, PW heard from a member of Chinese Communist Army that approx 700 US made P-51, P-38 and Curtiss twin engine transports which were given to the Chinese Nationalist Forces as aid from the UNITED STATES, fell into the hands of the Chinese Communist Forces about 1948. There was nothing but US made aircraft flying around MUKDEIN during the above mentioned period. PW was very sure of the identification of the aircraft because he was formerly a member of the Chinese Nationalist Army and had received air support from the US made aircraft during war training in MANCHURIA.
Other detailed information concerning, airfield is not obtainable.

NORTH AIRFIELD (MILITARY)     MUKDON (奉天)
Pvt                  D/O Mar 49 - Jul 50
North Airfield was located approx 9 km NNE of North NUKDEN RR Station.
PW observed the airfield from a distance of about 2 km while he stayed in MUKDEN.
There were two concrete runways, dimensions unknown (ref to sketch). This airfield was enclosed by a barbed wire fence.
There were about 8 galvanized iron dome shaped hangars, painted black, located in the western sector of the field. PW was unable to give any further into concerning airfield.
This airfield was formerly used by the Chinese Nationalist Air Forces as a military airfield and it was not damaged in the Chinese Nationalist -Chinese Communist conflict at MUKDEN.
There is a very great possibility that the above airfield is being used by the Chinese Communist Forces (Opinion of PW.)
