2. ASSESSMENT:
PW cooperative and intelligent. Reliability - Good

Chronology:
Jun 47: Joined the CCF in TUNGHUA, MANCHURIA.
Mar 48: Assigned to the 4th Ind Div, 2d Regt, 2d Bn, 6th Co, 2d Plat.
Oct 48: 2d Plat, 2 officers and 42 enlisted men assigned to guard Locomotive Factory in MUKDEN.
Jan 49: Transferred to PEILING for further training.
26 Jul 50: The 4th Div departed MANCHURIA for further basic training in KOREA. All Chinese personnel was replaced with Korean nationals to increase Div strength to 10,000 men.

MUKDEN LOCOMOTIVE FACTORY    OBS: Oct 48
MUKDEN LOCOMOTIVE FACTORY employs 3000 men and women. Skilled labor 90% Japanese nationals.
Factory Manager - Chinese National - formerly of the CCF 8th Route Army.
Out Put: 10 Locomotive per year.
Destination of Output: CHINA
Exact Location: 1.5 km south MUKDEN. (See Sketch #1)

SHANCHENGCHEN AIRFIELD
Basic Airfield Info:            OBS: 1 day
SHANCHENGCHEN Airfield (山城鎭) is located in SSU PING-SHENG (四平省) MANCHURIA. It was built in 1944 by the Japanese Army.
After the Japanese Army departed from MANCHURIA, the CCF occupied this airfield.
PW states that this place was guarded by the CCF Security Forces.
Aircraft:
During his visit to this airfield, PW only saw Japanese Fighter planes which has been left behind by the Japanese.
Dimensions:
Airfield is 1.5 km in length and 100 meters in width. On account of this fact that the airfield is located in mountainous area, it cannot be enlarged to any considerable extent. (Sketch #2)

TIEHSHI AIRFIELD           OBS (Date unknown)
Location: 10 km SE of MUKDEN City.
Dimensions: 1.5 km long, 1 km wide. Runways - 20 m wide.
Basic Airfield Info: This airfield was built by the Japanese Army during their occupation of MANCHURIA. Runway is asphalt paved - 2 inches thick with gravel foundation 5 inches thick. (Sketch #3)
#1 Hanger is being used as sulphur warehouse. Entire hangar is filled with sulphur.
#2 Hanger is being used as gasoline dump. Supply of gasoline was plentiful, (in drums).
#3 Hanger - Aircraft Bombs - 50 - 100 and 150 kilogram sizes. Last observed, hanger were filled to capacity.
#5 Hanger contained 6 Japanese Fighter Planes. These planes were in repair when PW visited airfield.
