5 Mar 47 - Inducted into CCF at CHIAN HSIEN (輯安縣) City. Assigned to Garrison unit (Co level), Security Bureau, CHIAN HSIEN City.

O/a 5 Mar 49 - Transferred to MUKDEN (奉天). Assigned 12th Sqd, 3rd Plat, 9th Co, 3rd Bn, 9th Regt, 3rd Div, Security Unit (十二班 三排 九連 三營 九團 三師 公安部隊) with duty as squad leader.

9 Apr 50 - Approx 300 Koreans were sent from 3rd Div, Security Unit on orders by Security Unit CG.

12 Apr 50 - Arrived SUKCH’ON (肅川) and assigned to 10th Div NKA.

7th Regt (Hq MUKDEN Electric Generator Station (奉天電氣工場). Duty: Secure MUKDEN Area factories.

8th Regt (Hq North MUKDEN Airfield). Duty: Secure airfield and MUKDEN main RR station.

9th Regt (Hq approx. 50 m E of 3rd Div Hq). Strength approx. 3,200 men.

1st Bn, 2nd Bn, 3rd Bn. Strength over 800 men each. Duty: To secure Manchurian GHQ District (2nd Bn). 3rd Bn duty to secure 9th Regt Hq, 3rd Div, Security Unit.

3rd Bn: 7th Co - approx. 205 men

8th Co - approx. 205 men

9th Co - 〃 205 men

9th Co: 3 platoons of 50 men each.

3rd Plat - 4 sqd of 12 men each.

Security Bureau (公安局) - situated in all large cities. Under the Security Bureau, there are Security Bureau Branches (公安分局) in every town.

Rank: In CCF, no rank insignias was shown at any time. Men were addressed by the position held.

Identification: All Chinese Army (Red) wear name tags of about (1” x 2”) on left chest to identify himself. On the front side said “Chinese People’s Liberation Army” (中國人民解放軍) and other side said Unit, position, and name, held by safety pin.

Uniform: Officers used same kind of uniform as soldiers but of better materials. Between officers, there are two kinds of uniform. Higher than Bn CO, pocket has patched pocket. Plat Ldr and Co CO pocket are regular.

Currency: (9 Apr 50) - North East Bank notes are used in MANCHURIA. Notes are 1,000; 5,000; 10,000; 50,000; 100,000; 500,000 and 1,000,000 YUAN.

AT MUKDEN 1 KIM (一斤) - 100 ME) of rice cost 8,000 YUAN.

Pay System: (as of Apr 50): Pvt and Sqd Ldr received same pay - 86,000 YUAN per month. Plat Ldr and Co CO received same pay, approx. 100,000 YUAN per month. Bn CO received approx. 300,000 YUAN per month. Regt, Co, CG, pay unknown.

Russian People: There are many Russians in MUKDEN, mostly Russian Advisors and dependents. Front of main MUKDEN RR Station there is a large 7-story building used by Russians as department store.

About Mar 50, Russian flight instructors (approx. 30 men) moved into the city and began to instruct at various airfields. Residence of Russians, unknown. These people were very friendly with the Manchurians.
