FIELD REPORT (25 Div - LDI - 11) 11 March 1951

1. PERSONAL DETAILS:
NAME: IN Do Chae
AGE: 30
RANK: Pvt

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW wounded in left elbow, otherwise appears to be in good physical condition. Cooperative, however, not intelligent. He has four months service in the CCF. Limited tactical information. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Unit Strength:
Present strength of his company is 25. Original strength was 115. Majority of the casualties due to artillery and air bombardment. Original strength of the Independent Litter Bearer Bn (4 mo ago) was about 300.

b. Unit Mission:
Four litter bearers and a ldr form one litter team. PW belonged to the advance collecting unit. Mission of his team was to go to the front line units and evacuate the wounded. On the night he was captured, his team was in the vic of capture.

c. Weapons & Equipment:
Litter Bearers use litters made of poles and moven mats. Board litters are also used. Wounded are first evacuated to an emergency aid station located in abandoned homes. Medical equipment at the aid station consist of bandages, iodine and sulpna drugs. Litter bearers do not carry weapons.

d. Food:
Insufficient. Troops eat pancakes once or twice a day.

e. Morale:
Morale is low. This is attributed to the following reasons:
Lack of equipment.
Us air attacks.

f. Propaganda:
PW saw leaflets and heard broadcasts. The contents of Leaflets were explained to him by a soldier who could read. Broadcasts were audible. The propaganda influenced him into surrendering.

g. Replacements:
No replacements in his company.

h. Night Air Attacks:
About 20 days ago approx 30 soldiers were killed as a result of a night air attack.

4. REMARKS:
It is the opinion of the interrogator that the PW unit is attached to the 114th Div.
