2. ASSESSMENT:
Intelligence - good; cooperation - good; memory - fair.
Reliability - good.

3. SPECIAL INTERROGATION:
Conscripted into the NKA at SARIWON (沙里院) 14 Sep 50 and sent to the 23d Field Hospital situated at CHUNGHWA (中和). The hospital was organized in early Jul by Hungarians. (NK newspapers dated approx. 1 July stated Hospital was a gift from Hungary to North KOREA.)
When PW reached this hospital there were only 5 or 6 (2 female nurses, 3-4 male) Hungarians left. Heard there were originally 16. The others had moved to a new location at YANGDOK (陽德) KOREA.
Observed that the Hungarians wore western clothing but could not distinguish whether they were military or civilians.
They conversed with Koreans through an interpreter (Korean). Language used unknown.
Medical supplies observed consisted of two X-ray machines and surgical equipment. Types of medicine unknown.
There was no liaison between the Hungarian doctors and NK doctors.
The remaining 5 or 6 Hungarians, along with most of their equipment, left for YANGDOK (陽德) 29 Sep 50.
Heard there was also a Rumanian hospital situated somewhere in NK.
