Very little ammo. Only what they can find that UN troops have left or thrown away. Many of CCF soldiers have carbines and US M-1 Rifles. Also heard that 2/3 of Regt has been killed since in Korea.

d. Food:
Food locally procured.

To hold Hill 937 at all costs and protect the 113th Div CP. If impossible to hold Hill 937 they were join the 113th Div. Recon Co on Hill 1157 CS 721575 which were already in position.

f. Location of Other Units:
PW heard the 39th, 42nd and 50th Armies had set up a defensive line on the 38th parallel.

g. Reinforcements:
Heard from officers and political leaders that replacements were coming from TSUNBEI China, however they did not say when or how many.

h. Morale:
Morale is very low. CCF troops do not understand why they are fighting in Korea. Troops are demoralized by the lack of food and shelter, and the heavy air and arty bombardments.

I. UN PW:
Before crossing the 38th parallel, near SAKSU-RI saw about 25 S Korean soldiers (ROKA) and 25 white and negro soldiers moving northward on foot to TSUNBEI, China where all UN PW are taken.

j. Leaflets and Broadcasts:
Saw leaflets on two different occasions. The first time the officers and political leaders told all CCF troops every day that the UN troops would not take PW. The second time the leaflets were dropped nothing much was said. About 50 percent of the CCF troops (formerly CNA) believed the leaflets and desired to surrender but due to the strict surveillance by superior officers and NCO, they were unable to do so.
