2. ASSESSMENT:
Voluntarily surrendered to elements of 2d Bn, 21st RCT. In fairly good condition at interrogation. Cooperative, and of average intelligence. Information considered fairly reliable. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
O/a 1 Mar 51 elements of 3d Bn arrived vic Hill 937 CS 701544 and dug defense positions running generally NE along S slope. 8th Rifle Co was deployed along W slope of Hill 937. 8th Co CP was in large temple CS 682549 o/a 081500 Mar 51. 3d Bn CP was approx 15 km generally S from place of capture. O/a 071900 Mar 51 3d Bn retreated N towards YONGMUN-SAN after receiving heavy casualties.

e. Mission:
Mission of 3d Bn, to defend Hill 937 at all cost until reinforcements were available.

f. Location of Other Units:
112th, 114th Div were to the rear regrouping, reorganizing and resupplying.

g. Reinforcements:
Heard from political leader approx 6 days ago that 1 officer from each Co departed for MANCHURIA to obtain replacements.

h. Morale:
Troops demoralized by heavy air and arty bombardment and also lack of food. Also promised replacements and air support not fulfilled.

i. Radio Broadcast:
Heard air broadcast approx 12 days ago. Speech was clear. Approx 70 percent of CCF troops (former CNA) believed in air, ground broadcast and leaflets. Countless number of troops desire to surrender but due to strict surveillance by superior officers and non-commissioned officers unable to do so.
