1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
Appeared in good physical condition. Operated a clothing store prior to entering military service. Cooperative and of average intelligence. Information considered fairly reliable. PW deserted his unit evening 16 Feb 51 and surrendered to 27th RCT following day. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Unit Organization:
38th Army was composed of 112th, 113th, 114th Div and an Artillery Bn.
112d Div composed of 334th, 335th, 336th Regt, Recon & Communications Co, Guard Co, Medical Unit and a Supply Unit.
The 336th Regt had 3 Rifle Bn and a HMG Co.

Artillery fire caused the heaviest casualties in unit.

c. Equipment:
The HMG Co (atchd to Regt) was equipped with 4 HMG and 2 81mm Mortars.

d. Assignment and Intention:
12 Feb 51, PW was told by Propaganda Officer that their unit was assigned to defend vic CS534402.

e. Disposition:
As of 16 Feb 51, 336th Regt was on hill vic CS534442. The troops were well dug in.

f. Circumstances under which Captured:
Evening 16 Feb 51, while his unit was being shelled, PW deserted and headed towards UN forces lines. Surrendered the following day.

g. Medical:
PW did not receive any immunizations since coming to KOREA. There were no typhus cases in PW unit.

h. Night Bombing:
Unit received many night bombing attacks but casualties were light. Artillery fire caused heaviest casualties.

4. REMARKS:
Incorporating 25th LDI, unnumbered, dtd 17 Feb 51.
