ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 3930　10 March 1951

FIELD REPORT (3RD DIV IPW NO 085)　14 February 1951

Captured hiding with eleven others in bomb shelter after morning fire fight with US troops. Bomb shelter evidently dug some other enemy unit while in area before.

a. 8th Div organized in SEOUL 10 Jan 51 with recruits and remnants of 7th NK Div and other units.

1st Regt (1st, 2d and 3d Bn) left SEOUL night of 12 Feb 51 arrived at a hill ■ km W of KODUNG NI (CS 325440) daybreak 13 Feb 51. 1st Regt climbed hill and dug positions while PW and few others remained in a village at the foot of hill. 1000 13 Feb 51, began to hear heavy gun fire and many casualties came down from the hill to the village. Helped medical personnel treat wounded for rest of the day. Nightfall fled village with company commander and 30 members of his company after leaving 15 wounded in the hands of villagers.

The company headed for SUWON hearing SUWON had been liberated by CCF. While moving were fired upon by US troops in vicinity of KOSAN DONG (CS 324434). Subject and 11 others took refuge in bomb shelter. Captured by US troops.

1st Regt became disorganized and fled area.

(1) 1st Regt crossed HAN River ■■■■ON (CS 280560) night 12 Feb 51. No bridging equipment used since crossing made on frozen river.
