Continuing their trek Div crossed HAN River W of SEOUL. Thereafter headed southward arriving at SUWON thence east to YONGIN. 450th Regt headed for YANGJI-RI arriving there o/a 20 Jan 51. At the time 450th Regt was at YANGJI-RI, 150th Div CP was at YONGIN. 450th Regt rested at YANGJIRI about 10 days, due to cold weather and depleted strength. Because of flat open terrain to the south, they were to wait for warmer weather when eight more mechanized armies will come down to reinforce them. O/a 28 Jan 51, 450th Regt was hit by UN forces and was forced to withdraw with heavy losses. During this movement in vic CS414357 4 Feb 51 when overrun by UN Forces PW were captured.

1st Co had the following arms and ammo:
1 x HMG (original: 3)
3 x LMG (original: 6) ammo: 400-500 rd ea
2 x 60mm Mortars ammo: 15 rd ea
3 x Land mines
15 kg of dynamite
Individual troops had Jap M38 rifles and 2 hand grenades each.

From the point where PW were captured (CS414357) in the vic of MUNHYON, 1st Co CP was located 100m below hill 330 on reverse slope which was approx 1 km NNW from the point of capture. Believed that the other Co and Bn CP was in vic of hill 330.

c. Deployment of Other Units:
Heard from other soldiers that 38th, 39th, 40th, 41st, 42nd, and 50th Army were in KOREA.

g. Mission and Intentions:
A political officer told PW that their objective was to push to PUSAN, since that is the main port of escape for UN troops if they were to evacuate from KOREA.
CCF offensive was to start when warm weather came so that troops can discard heavy clothes, as well as be able to utilize green foliage and grass for concealment against air attack.

h. Personalities:
WONG Cha San (王家善), 50 yr, CG 150th Div.
Lin (fnu) (林), 40 yr, CO 1st Bn.
WONG Ta Chin (王大均), 35 yr, CO 1st Co.
CHEIN Chi Cho (■集周), 25, 2nd Plat Ldr

i. Medical:
1st Co of approx 70 men, 20 or more troops suffered from stomach trouble, 5 men with cold, 5 men with frostbite.

j. Propaganda:
Political officer told PW that United States is defending FORMOSA, and is trying to take KOREA, for a base of operations to attack CHINA and RUSSIA. That RUSSIA is their ally so they must do their best and not be afraid to die for their country. That although America has air power CCF have manpower. That advantages of manpower was that planes cannot stay in the air continuously whereas men can continue their attack ceaselessly, hence it was logical that CCF had a better chance of winning this war.
Heard ground propaganda broadcast clearly and believed it was heard as far back as their Co CP area. However, were afraid to talk about it with others because of punishment, but PW talked it over and decided to surrender. Previously they also picked up safe conduct pass in vicinity of HAN River and at other places. Almost all men in their Co have picked up these leaflets.

k. UN PW:
O/a 8 Jan 51 saw approx 100 US prisoners being evacuated, while they were travelling from KUMCHON to SEOUL. Political officers told them these prisoners were being sent to MANCHURIA.

l. Miscellaneous:
According to PW the most feared plane is the F-51 MUSTANG since they came in low and strafed them at will.

For the AC of S, G-2:
