c. Mission of PW unit:
Mission of PW unit is to transport supplies and ammo from vic CHIDONG-NI CT3500 to vic 2 km W of UIJONGBU CS2878. 1st Bn had approx 13 trucks operating between these two points. Runs were made once every 3 to 6 days depending upon amount of enemy night air activity. Supplies consisted of the following in order of volume: Food (consisting mostly of substitute grains and some rice), clothing and ammo. Ammo consisted mostly of hand grenades, rifle ammo and mortar shells. Could not estimate amount of supplies located vic CHIDONG-NI because supplies were widely dispersed and concealed in dugouts, under trees and in ravines. Supplies are very seldom stored in buildings. The trucks of PW unit are hidden in ravines, under trees and camouflaged at a position estimated 8 km N of UIJONGBU. Bn transports the greater part of the supplies by horse and ox-carts.

d. Dispositions of adjacent units:
Does not know locations or unit designations of other CCF units. Heard from a friend about a month ago that 38th, 39th and 40th CCF Armies were retreating to the general UIJONGBU area due to the attacks of the US 24th and 25th Div. 38th, 39th and 40th Armies are the elite Armies of the entire CCF. A defeat on the part of these Armies will be a serious blow to the entire CCF Army machine. These three Armies are famous for their superiority in night tactics.

e. Weapons:
PW company had 4 pistols and 48 rifles and 300 hand grenades.

f. Food:
Food is confiscated from villagers. Villagers are given copies of “orders from the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army” for the rice that is taken.

g. Morale:
Morale of troops, especially among those who formally served with the CNA, is very low. Many of the troops would like to surrender.

h. Psychological Warfare:
PW has read surrender leaflets. 80% of the troops have read the leaflets and desire to surrender, but they seldom have an opportunity to do so. Troops discovered carrying leaflets are subject to execution.

i. Replacements:
Has not heard of any CCF replacements coming to KOREA.

j. Narcotics:
CCF troops are not issued any narcotics.

k. HAN River crossing:
HAN River crossing made on foot over ice, 15 Feb 51 at unknown location.

l. Effect of night air attacks:
PW has not experienced night air attacks, but UN air activity disrupts transportation of supplies.
