FIELD REPORT (2 DIV-LDI-0131)　8 February 1951

PW cooperative in answering questions. Information is limited, because he was separated from his unit for approx 10 days.

Not recommended for further interrogation.

O/a 29 Jan 51 PW separated from his unit at ANHUNG-MYON, ANHUNG-NI (vic of DS2252) because of bad health.

14 Jan, attached Security Co, consisting of approx 80 men from TUMU-RI, NK, crossed 38th Parallel and arrived 8 km S of PYONGCHON 20 Jan 51 where they rested for 4 days.

24 Jan 51 left PYONGCHON and arrived ANHUNG 28 Jan 51.

29 Jan 51 Co moved toward HOENGSONG, but PW was left behind because of his bad health (believed to be influenza). Asst Sqd Ldr told him to come to SONGJONG-RI (DS 1454) after he god well.

30 Jan 51 observed NKA troops armed with Soviet rifles, M-1 rifles and PPsh SMG and ANHUNG-NI. Stayed over night and started toward HOENGSONG (heard from a soldier).

1 Feb 51 observed NKA troops who had Soviet rifles, and PPsh SMG at ANHUNG-NI. They also stayed over night and started toward HOENGSONG.

3 Feb 51 observed NKA troops who had Soviet rifles, carbines and PPsh SMG who stayed over night at ANHUNG and moved toward HOENGSONG.

Weapons of Security Co as of 29 Jan 51: 1 LMG (500 rd of ammo, 9 PPsh SMG (50 rd to 150 rd with 1 magazine per), 1 carbine (1 magazine), Unk no of rifles (80 rd of ammo per). Remaining had Soviet rifles with 100-200 rd of ammo ea. No ammo received after crossing 38th Parallel.

b. Food Supply: Obtained from villages (sufficient).

c. Clothing: All personnel wore cotton padded winter uniforms and canvas shoes.

d. Physical Condition: 3 men in 1st Plat were suffering from frostbite.

e. Morale: Low, because of lack of sleep, poor food and supply of clothing.
