Not recommended for further interrogation. PW was cooperative but information limited.

3. TACTICAL INFORATMION:

PW heard that 10th Div mission was to secure ANDONG GUN area until CCF moved in.

23 Jul 50 - PW was conscripted at KUMCH’ON, North KOREA. (5th Regt, 4th Div NKA).

17 Oct 50 - Deserted.

O/a 15 Nov 50 - PW arrived at his home HWACH’ON, North KOREA and was working at Myon Office as a clerk until conscripted again.

10 Dec 50 -Conscripted at HWACH’ON, North KOREA.

20 Dec 51 - 10th Div left HWACH’ON.

21 Dec 50 - Arr YANGGU, North KOREA.

O/a 25 Dec 50 - Arr INJE, North KOREA.

O/a 5 Jan 51 - 25th Regt made contact with about one Bn ROK (location unknown). PW observed about 30 ROK PW and heard that ROK PW (volunteers) were reeducated and conscripted into NKA. Non-volunteers were released and sent home.

O/a 20 Jan 51 - 10th Div passed through O TEA SAN and arrived SAMCHOK, South KOREA (East coast). Div was strafed by UN planes. 1 killed and 20 wounded.

O/a 1 Feb 51 - Div passed through SOBAEK SAN and arrived about 8 km Southwest of ANDONG. (10th Div CP located). Stayed here for 3 days. Signal Bn laid communication wire between Div CP and 25th Regt CP. 25th Regt CP located approximately 4 km East from Div CP.

O/a 3 Feb 51 - Received UN air strikes; casualties extremely high. Unit left for TONGDAE SAN. (DP 2617)

4 Feb 51 - PW unit was attacked by UN planes and PW was wounded in leg.

7 Feb 51 - PW unit arrived TONGDAE SAN and left wounded on the side of mountain and marched toward PALGOK SAN (DR 2321). PW Unit set up temporary hospital for wounded.

9 Feb 50 - Captured at TONGDAE SAN.

7 PPSh SMG with one clip of ammo

Approx 30 Hand grenades

Russian rifles with 80 rd of ammo per rifle

17 Field telephones (2 USA and rest RUSSIA. Half of the telephones were not useable.)

Approximately 15 km of wire (single). 5 spools.

3 line testers

10 batteries for telephone

Each Regt and Div Hq had one switchboard.

Wireless (transmitter). Plat had 5 transmitters but no batteries.

Ammo: No resupply from rear.

Food: Procured from nearby villages. Ate twice daily.

Medical: Limited amount of Medical supply. About 40% of troops were suffering from frostbite.

Clothing: No resupply. 30% of troops were wearing civilian clothes.

Shelter: Mostly in ravines.

Upon crossing 38th Parallel, PW heard 6th Div and another Div left North KOREA for South KOREA at same time with 10th Div.
