3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
1 Sep 50 -Conscripted into the NKA and entered the field training station at P’YONGCH’ANG (平昌), KANGWON-DO
25 Sep 50 - Approx 250 of the 500 trainees were killed by US air attacks.
26 Sep 50 - The training station received 250 replacements in the vicinity of P’YONGCH’ANG.
27 Sep 50 - All of the training station began to retreat.
20 Oct 50 - All trainees were attacked to 36th Unit and ICH’ON (伊川), KANGWON-DO except 4 including PW who were left behind.
9 Dec 50 - 75th Div was newly organized with political refugees, volunteers, and remnants, at MANP’OJIN (滿浦鎭). PW was assigned to the 1st Plat, 3rd Co, 2nd Bn, 3rd Regt, 75th Div as a supply sergeant.
15 Dec 50 - 75th Div moved down through KANGGYE (江界), CHONCH’ON(前川), HICH’ON(熙川) and MIOHIANG-SAN (Mt) (妙香山).
20 Dec 50 - Arrived P’YONGYANG.
23 Dec 50 - Arrived HWANGJU (黃州), HWANGHAE-DO.
26 Dec 50 - 3rd Regt of the 75th Div departed HWANGJU for ICH’ON (伊川).
5 Jan 51 - Regt lost 20 men by US air attacks at ICH’ON.
15 Jan 51 - Regt received 20 replacements from the Local Defense Party at CH’ORWON (鉄原).
21 Jan 51 - Arrived HONGCH’ON (洪川).
27 Jan 51 - PW deserted at HONGCH’ON.
1 Feb 51 - Captured on the way to his home.

f. Disposition of units:
3rd Regt of 75th Div was stationed at HONGCH’ON (洪川), while 1st and 2nd Regt were in the vicinity of CH’UNCH’ON (春川). When PW escaped he saw the 1011th unit regrouping 4 km E of HONGSONG (洪城) and II Corps regrouping 2 km W of HONGSONG.

g. Intention:
75th Div was to support I Corps fighting at YONGWOL, reaching there by 5 Feb 51.

h. Morale:
Low in the 75th Div because of US air attacks and lack of supplies.

i. Replacements:
3rd Regt received 20 replacements at CH’ORWON (鉄原) 2 Jan 51.

j. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
No Bn or Regt aid stations in the 75th Div. Div aid station was usually located close to Div CP. All the wounded were treated there.

k. Supply:
Each man carried three days rations, 30 rd ammo for small arms, 3 hand grenades and one extra suit of clothes.
Four ox carts in 3rd Regt carried foodstuffs, clothes and rifles.

l. Weapons Feared Most:
Strafing.
Artillery Fire.

m. UN PW:
PW saw 6 ROK PW being interrogated in P’YONGYANG, 30 Dec 50 and 3 going home, released from YONGDOK (盈德) PW Camp, CH’UNGCH’ONG PUKTO on 5 Jan 51 at CH’UNCH’ON (春川), KANGWONDO.
