2. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Mission:
Mission of 10th Div when they left YANGGU, North KOREA was to push the enemy out of KOREA. They also were to cut the UN MSR whenever possible. (Date or location was unknown).

b. Strength of Unit:
(1) Original Strength: Nov 50 at HWACH’ON, North KOREA
10th Div - 8000 men
Indep. Signal Bn - 213 men
3rd Co, Indep. Signal Bn - 80 men
1st Plat, 3rd Co, Indep. Signal Bn - 22 men
(2) Present Strength: 7 Feb 51 (place unk).
Signal Bn - 190 men
3rd Co, Signal Bn - 71 men

c. Military History:
Nov 50 - 10th Div reorganized at HWACH’ON.
26 Dec 50 - 10th Div left HWACH’ON for the South. Their mission was to cut the UN MSR and also to push until they reached PUSAN. The was to cut the UN MSR and also to push until they reached PUSAN. The route taken from North to South was unknown. 10th Div received approx 10-15 air attacks enroute toward ANDONG.
26 Jan 51 - 10th Div arrived in the vicinity last of ANDONG.
30 Jan 51 - 10th Div arrived at CHONGSONG (ER 0531). In the evening 27th and 29th Regt separated from the 10th Div Hq. (Disposition unknown).
2 Feb 51 - 10th Hq, 25th and Arty Regt, Education and Signal Bn headed south. Because of UN Forces in the vicinity, the Hq and its units traveled back and forth in the mountains.
3 Feb 51 - PW was captured in a village. The disposition of these units was unknown.

d. Weapons and Equipment:
5 Feb 51 the following weapons were seen with the Signal Bn:
3 - LMG
3 - US M-1 Rifles
Russian Rifles. Approx 60 rd each.
One hand-grenade per man.
5 - Field telephones
1 - Wireless. (Battery operated, but no battery).

e. Morale:
PW stated that morale was low among the troops, including the officers.

f. Unit Duties:
Signal Bn duty was to keep the telephone wire strung from Regt to 10th Div Hq. Signal Bn had Platoons attached to 25th, 27th, 29th and Arty Regt. Actually no communication was feasible because of constant travelling.
