3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
26 Nov 46: Volunteered for the RR Guard Headquarters at P’YONGYANG.
8 Feb 48: RR Guard Headquarters was made part of the NKA.
18 Aug 48: Moved to HAMHUNG (咸興). 3rd Div was organized and PW assigned to 3rd Div, 9th Regt.
20 Oct 48: Promoted to Corporal.
2 Jul 49: Moved to KIMHWA (金化) with his unit, 9th Regt.
27 Feb 50: 12 men of 9th Regt were ordered to go to PYONGYANG and appear before a board. These 12 men passed and were commissioned Jr Lt, and attached to 10th Div.
2 Mar 50: Went to SUKCHON (肅川) where 10th Div was being organized.
5 Jul 50: PW unit, 25th Regt moved to CHAERYONG (載寧).
Early Sep 50: Arrived HYONPUNG (玄風) on foot, via CHONAN (天安) and TAEJON (大田). After 20 days, started to retreat.
End of Oct 50: Arrived YANGGU (楊口).
22 Jan 51: Moved to ANDONG (安東).
27 Jan 51: Arrived IPAM (立岩) SE of ANDONG (安東). Engaged US troops, 8 men killed, 20 men wounded.
2 Feb 51: Surrendered to ROK Police.

b. Unit History:
10th Div was organized at SUKCH’ON (肅川) in Spring of 50. It consisted of 25th, 27th, and 29th Regt and an Arty Regt, a total of about 15,000 troops. In engagement at HYONPUNG (玄風) Sep 50, 10th Div lost 75% of its troops. At KORYONG (高靈), it received about 1,200 recruits who came from North KOREA. In Dec 50, at YANGGU (楊口), it received about 500 men more. Its present strength is a little more than 6,000 (sic).

c. Personalities:
LEE, Pang Nam (李방남), Maj Gen (小將), 40, CG, 10th Div. Served with the 8th Route Army in MANCHURIA. He was formerly (Aug 50) CO of 6th Regt, 2nd Div. Tall man with round face.
YUN (fnu) (尹)(윤), Sr Col (總佐), 33, C/S, 10th Div, served with the 8th Route Army in MANCHURIA. He was formerly (Mar 50) ass’t director of the First Military College of North KOREA. Tall man with long face.
KIM, Tae Hong (金대홍), Sr Col, Over 40, former CG, 10th Div (see remarks), served with the 8th Route Army in MANCHURIA. Until 30 Aug 50, he was CG, 10th Div as a Maj Gen. He was demoted to Sr Col and assigned as C/S, in another Div. He is quite tall.
KIM, Chon Man (金千萬)(김천만), Col (大佐), over 30, CO, 25th Regt, 10th Div, served with the 8th Route Army in MANCHURIA. He was formerly (Feb 50) Bn CO. Small man with round face. Over the right eye, there was a 4 cm long scar where he was cut by the Japanese.

f. Dispositions:
When last observed (2 Feb 51) 10th Div was 12 km W of CHONGSONG (靑松) perimeter with 25th Regt and Arty Regt. 27th and 29th Regt were in the vicinity of the ANDONG (安東) perimeter.

g. Intentions:
10th Div was ordered to cut the supply routes of UN Forces.

h. Supply:
Each man carried 4 days rations and 60 rounds of ammo for rifles.

i. Weapons Feared Most:
Artillery fire.

PW saw above mentioned Russian Advisors at SUKCH’ON (肅川). These advisors stayed with PW Div until 4 Jul 50, when 10th Div departed SUKCH’ON (肅川).

(2) Advise on Communist political training.
