3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Mission:
10th Div mission was to cut UN MSR. (Location unk)

Code name for 29th Regt was O DAE-GANG (name of river). APO No for 29th Regt was “IN MIN GUN #751”. Code name used for communication unit, 29th Regt was PONG KAE TAE (meaning Lightning Unit).
Code name used by 10th Div was TONG TAE (meaning: Signal Unit)

Code names used for communication by:
1st Bn 29th Regt - KONG GYOK TAE meaning Offense Unit.
2nd Bn 〃 〃 - TOR GYOK TAE meaning Charging Unit.
3rd Bn 〃 〃 - KI TONG TAE meaning Mechanized Unit.
Arty Bn 〃 〃 - PAN O TAE meaning Defense Unit.

c. Chronology:
7 Apr 50 - PW entered NKA at SUKCHON.
21 Dec 50 - 10th Div was reorganized at HWACHON, and headed south via YANGGU. Took mountain trails all the way to TOPYONG DONG.
O/a 16 Jan 51 - PW lost his unit because of his sickness (chill & Diarrhea). Location unk.
O/a 28 Jan 51 - PW joined Hq 10th Div (location unk). PW was with Hq 10th Div until 1 Feb 51 and again PW lost his unit.
2 Feb 51 - PW was apprehended by villagers (vicinity of TOPYONG-DONG) and turned over to ROK National Police.

d. Personalities:
Regt CO - CH’OE, U, Col, 30. PW heard that he was educated in MANCHURIA.
Plat Ldr - YU, Hung Bok, Jr Lt.

e. Weapons & Equipment:
29th Regt had:
6 Mortars, 82mm
6 HMG
1 LMG to each plat
Approx 200 PPSH SMG, rest of them were Russian Rifles and few M1 Rifles (US).
They had 17 US made field telephones with 1 Russian made switchboard and fifteen 500 meter spools of telephone wire. Wire are rerolled into the spools each time the Regt moved. They also had one telegraph machine.

f. Status of Supply; Route of Supply:
Ammo - No resupply from rear. Ammo were taken away from dead or wounded.
Food - Procured from near by villages.
Clothing - One set of clothing which the PW wore.
Shelter - Always in village homes because his Unit was Regt Hq Sig Co.

g. General Information:
Heard CCF units were following 10th Div and will replace 10th Div.

h. Morale:
Morale was low, because of long forced marches and insufficient supplies.
