1. PERSONAL DETAILS:
NAME: CHANG, Il Song

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW appreciated the human treatment he had received (given Medical treatment and carried by stretcher), and was willing to tell all he knew. He maintained, however, that an Asst Plat Ldr does only what he is told, like an ordinary soldier, and that he had no tactical or detailed information. Reliability good.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Movement:
The 125th Div came down through the center of the Korean Peninsula and was in contact with ROK troops all the way to the 38th Parallel. Movement was made during the night; during the day, troops slept in the mountains, or in occupied villages, when possible.

b. Weapons and Personnel:

Troops were armed with Japanese type 38 rifles, or in a few cases, with US M-1 rifles, and 50 rds of ammo.
One Arty Bn with 6 mountain guns was attached to the Div. One Mortar Co with 6x82mm mortars (and approx 30 rd of ammo for each of them) was attached to a Regt. Bn had approx 6 HMG.

c. Disposition of 42nd Army: (Hearsay o/a 31 Jan 51)
125th Div Hq and remaining two Div of 42nd Army were concentrated vicinity 40 km north of place of capture, in a mountainous area called PALBAN-NI (Note possibly PAL BONG NI (S-8571)).

d. Medical:
An unknown type of epidemic recently started in unit. Infected personnel were isolated and later sent to the rear.
