2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was in good physical condition at time of interrogation. Was fairly cooperative but of below average intelligence.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW crossed into KOREA 20 Oct 50. 8th Co and another u/k Co crossed the 38th Parallel on or about 1 Jan 51. PW believes 113th Div crossed HAN River 3 Feb 51. After HAN crossing 8th Co arrived u/k location 2 days later. Following day 8th Co engaged UN forces. Due to heavy casualties withdrew 6 km N (location u/k). Regrouped and after 1 day of rest, advanced S (2 days march) to present position (4 km NE from place of capture). While on OP, PW heard UN broadcast and voluntarily surrendered.

d. Intentions:
8th Co is to defend present position at all costs. Heard that 38th Army was to fight through Central KOREA, before entering KOREA.

e. Other Units:
Heard at TOKCH'ON, 40th Army was also in KOREA.

f. UN Leaflets:
Has picked up and read UN leaflets. Awaited chance to desert.

g. Morale:
Morale low due to arty shelling and air strikes. Fear white phosphorous most, more than fragmentation shells. More casualties due to white phosphorous.

h. Arty Information:
UN arty accurate.

i. Troop Movements:
Troop movements made after sunset and before moonrise. Troop movements cease approx 0300.
Troop movements made over mountain trails when possible.
