2. ASSESSMENT:
Cooperative and intelligent. Recollecting of dates poor. Reliability - Poor.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
14 Apr 50 - 25 Jul 50 - Inducted into NKA at SUKCH’ON(肅川) and received Sig training. Assigned to 2nd Sqd, 3rd Plat, Signal Co, 27th Regt, 10th Div.
31 Jul 50 - 10th Div moved to SEOUL by train. Remained in YONGDUNGP’O(永登浦) for 5 days.
8 Aug 50 - 10th Div marched to SONGJU(星州) because of constant air attack in YONGDUNGP’O.
9 Aug 50 - 3 Oct 50 - 10th Div moved to the NAKTONG River and set up positions (strength - 10,000). Later ordered to retreat.
6 Nov 50 - 10th Div with strength of 7,000 retreated to HWACH’ON(華川). 27th Regt went to CHECH’ON(提川) and set up defensive positions, remaining there one month.
12 Jan 51 - While engaging ROK troops, the 10th Div advanced to MUNGYONG(聞慶) passing through HONGCHO’ON(洪川), HOENGSONG(橫城), WONJU(原州) and CHECH’ON(提川). At TONGNO-MYON(東魯面) near MUNGYONG(聞慶), the 27th Regt and 29th Regt engaged a UN unit. PW was wounded in this contact and was evacuated to TOKSAN(德山) where he received treatment at an aid station for about 5 days. PW with approx 100 other wounded ordered to disperse into the hills. Nine of the wounded including PW were captured by a Raider Co 20 Jan 51.

Remarks:
The Rear Unit directly attached to Div took care of food, clothing, supply and ammunition. It was last seen by PW in SUKCH’ON(肅川) between Apr 50 - Jul 50.
Arty Regt at present does not have any guns.

e. Communications:

Each Battalion - 5 field phones (Russian type 1943 TAN)
Each Regiment - 10 field phones (same as above) and one wireless two-way transmitter (Russian - LEM)

f. Disposition:
When last observed (12 Jan 51), 10th Div Hq was located at the foot of a hill in a village about 2km N of TONGNO(東鲁). 27th Regt was located 1km N of TONGNO.

g. Intention:
At first, the 10th Div aimed for ANDONG(安東). However, on the way, they changed and headed for TAEGU(大邱).

h. Morale:
Low because of a high rate of frost bite and poor food. Also because they had to keep on the move most of the time.

i. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
Light wounds were treated by the aid men while the seriously wounded were evacuated by the Bn aide men to the Div hospital which was located 12km to their rear. The Div hospital was set up depending upon the Div advance and consisted of 1 doctor and 4 or 5 nurses.

j. Supply:
Each men carried 2 days ration and 50 rd of ammo. SMG gunners carried 142 rd.

k. Other Units:
In the vicinity of HONGCH’ON(洪川), PW saw the 15th Div 25 Dec 50.
