4. LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNITS (as of 29 Jan 51):
PW knew nothing about an MIR.
PW heard from his assistant squad leader on Jan 51 that, the 149th Div will be relieved by the 150th Div.
PW believes that the 149th Div was in the first front line and the 148th Div on the second and the 150th Div in the third; when the 149th Div was in the front line long enough the third line or the second line Div would replace it. If the UN pressure becomes severe, the first line Div would more black, and the second line Div would hold and retreat, accordingly.
The mission of the 50th Army was to protect SEOUL (CS2050).
29 Jan 51, the 150th Div was south of SEOUL, the 149th Div was south of the 150th Div. The 148TH Div was between 149th and 150th Div.
445th Regt was unknown km south of the 149th Div CP, and the 1st Bn was 8km south of the 445th Regt.
1st Bn of the 445th Regt was east of the 2nd Bn and the 3rd Bn west of the 2nd Bn.
2nd and 3rd Co of the 1st Bn were respectively in back of the 1st Co. The 1st Bn Hq was between the 2nd and 3rd Co. Distance between each co was 800m to 1km.
PW believed the company’s battle positions of the 2nd and 3rd Bn of the 445th Regt were essentially the same as the 1st Bn.
