f. Communications:
Contact with other units difficult due to shortage of batteries for radio. Messages are received, but transmission is difficult.

g. Other Units:
Nove 50 PW saw approx 1 Div CCF in CHAKANG-DO, CHUCHUN-GUN YONGLIM-MYON. PW ate with Chinese soldiers for 20 days, conversing with them in broken Japanese. Half of this unit came from MANCHURIA and the rest from SHANGHAI area or MIDDLE CHINA. He knew this because half of the unit wore winter uniforms, and the others summer uniforms. These two groups did not understand each other because of language difficulties. Manchurian group believed to be part of 4th Field Army.
Chinese units were armed with Japanese rifles (type 38 and 39), carbines US, 60mm Mortars, US 105 mm HOW (PW saw 2) Jap 40mm Field Gun, 3 tanks in the area.
Morale of the Chinese soldiers high, but NKA soldiers are better fighters because Chinese soldiers fear UN air attacks more. Chinese soldiers are better walkers because they can walk twice as much as the NKA soldiers. 2 Buglers in Co size unit. All movements made on bugle calls.
