Estimates 4th Co had 30 casualties 25 Jan 51 due to air strike.

3. LOCATION OF UNITS:

PW’s Co arrived o/a 18 Jan 51 on the high ground where he was captured (Hill 124 CS286199). Co arrived SEOUL o/a 15 Jan 51. Heard 14 Jan 51 from a villager who spoke a little Chinese that friendly units were located nearby, but does not know unit designation or strength.

Location of 448th Regt Hq - Heard 24 Jan 51 from friend that Regt Hq located approximately 4 kilometers behind 4th Co.

Location of 2nd Bn Hq - Heard 24 Jan 51 from a communications personnel that Bn Hq located approximately 2 kilometers behind 4th Co.

4. MISSION OF PW SUB-UNIT:

The night of 24 Jan 51 the Co CO assembled the Co and told the troops that he had received orders that the Co was not going to go any further south; that they were going to rest at present position for about one week. The CO did not say anything else about future plans.

5. CO ROUTINE:

Troops of PW Co are dug in and camouflaged. They sleep in positions at night and hid in them by day. Troops cook their meals at night only. Positions are normally occupied by 1 soldier. Food is procured locally. Supply is sufficient. Estimates one half of company have rifles with 90 - 100 rounds of ammo. Troops average 4 hand grenades per man. 4 company has 6 LMG’s with estimated 1,000 rounds per weapon. PW has seen two small mortars, cal unk, with estimated 30 rounds. Co has 1 horse.
