Cooperative but unintelligent. Reliability - Fair

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
8 Apr 50 - Inducted into the NKA 10th Div, 29th Regt, 2nd Bn, 6th Co at SUKCH’ON (肅川) as a Pvt. Received 3 months training.
Jul 50 - 10th Div advanced to KORYONG (高靈).
Late Jul 50 - PW deserted from his unit but after 2 days, was apprehended and transferred to the Signal Co, 27th Regt as a KP.
Early Oct 50 - 10th Div withdrew from KORYONG (高靈).
Late Nov 50 - Arrived HWACH’ON (樺川). Survivors of 27th Regt were about 1,500. Div reorganized.
Early Dec 50 - Advanced to CHUNCH’ON (春川).
10 Dec 50 - Fought at KAP’YONG (加平) and retreated to CHICHON-NI (芝村里).
28 Dec 50 - Left CHICHON for ANDONG (安東).
15 Jan 51 - Arrived YECH’ON (醴泉) via HONGCH’ON (洪川) and TANYANG (丹陽).
At night, again deserted his unit with his squad leader and surrendered.

b. Unit Organization and Strength:
25th and 29th Regt same organization as 27th Regt
Signal Co, 27th Regt:
Officers - 4. EM - 15.
Attached to Regt and maintained communication with Bn.
Weapons & Equipment: 12 x M1926/27 7.62mm Carbine.
3 x 7.62mm PPSH M1941 SMG.
1 x TT1930 7.62mm Pistol.
60 - 50 rds ammo for each rifle.
Telephone wire - 1600m US made #130.
1200m Russian made diameter - 5mm.
2 cloth wraps.
3 Field telephones, Russian made.
2nd Plat (or Radio Plat):
Officer - 1. EM - 15.
Radio Section of the Regt CP.
Weapons & Equipment: 15 x M1926/27 7.62mm Carbine.
60 rds ammo for each rifle.
1 Radio (Russian made, RBS-60).
3rd Plat (or Telephone Plat):
Officer - 1. EM - 30.
Each Sqd of this Plat was dispatched to a Bn.
Weapons & Equipment: 26 x M1926/27 7.62mm Carbine.
1 x TT1930 7.62mm Pistol.
4 x 7.62mm PPSH M1941 SMG.
12 Field telephone (Russian made).
Telephone wire - 8400m US made #130.
5200m Russian made.
Strength of 3rd Bn, 27th Regt approx 450.

c. Intentions:
10th Div was to reach ANDONG (安東) and engage in guerrilla activities.

d. Morale:
Morale was low. 10th Div marched a long way, and all were tired. Whenever they engaged in combat, the wounded were not given any medical treatment and were made to shift for themselves.

e. Replacements:
10 Dec 50, after retreating from KAP’YONG (加平) to CHICHON-NI (芝村里), the 10th Div picked up all the young people in CHICHON district and conscripted them into the 10th Div.

f. Supply:
When the 10th Div started from CHICHON-NI (芝村里), each man carried 2 days rations and 100 rds.
When they were short of ammo, they attacked a weak point, for example, a police box. Sufficient ammo was obtained by the afore-mentioned method.

g. Weapons Feared Most:
Artillery fire.
Napalm bomb.
