PW was cooperative. Information seems reliable.

2nd Division: 24th (Code No 238), 6th and 17th Regts, Eng Bn, Arty Regt (Code No 247), Medical Bn, Recon (Code Name: KKYOKORI) (꾀꼬리), Guard Plat and Political Section.
Each Regt composed of 3 Rifle Bn’s, Medical Section, Recon Plat and Guard Plat.
Each Bn composed of 3 Rifle Co’s, HMG Co, Mortar Co, 45 mm Gun Plat, AA MG Plat, Guard Plat and Supply Plat.
Each Co composed of 3 Rifle Plat’s and Medical Sqd.

4. LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES OF UNIT:
2nd Division Headquarters was located at CHUK NYONG (竹岺) on 15 Jan 51.
4th and 6th Regiment objectives 15 Jan 51 were to take up position on the SOBAEK Mountains.
Approximately 30 Engineer troops were ordered to destroy the highway between CHUK NYONG and TANYANG.
Enroute to the objective, the PW was wounded and herein separated from his unit at which time he was captured.
PW heard from a farmer that the 10th Division passed through CHUK NYONG on 11 Jan 51.

5. PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted into the 3rd Bn, 4th Regt, 2nd Division at HAMHUNG (CV7319) 14 Mar 49. Received basic infantry training for 6 months at HAMHUNG.
PW was transferred to the Medical Section, 2nd Division Sep 50.
Jan 51 PW was placed into the Engineer Battalion, 2nd Division.
PW did not undergo any Engineer training in his unit.
2nd Division left HAMHUNG 30 Apr 50.

In Oct 50, 4,000 2nd Division troops retreated through the SOBAEK and TAEBAEK Mountain Ranges from SINBAN RI, passing YANGYANG (DT6613), KOWON (CU4966), and arrived at KANGGYE (BA9837) on 6 Nov 50.
At KANGGYE the 2nd Division was reorganized with 3,000 former 2nd Division personnel.
2nd Division left KANGGYE on 16 Nov 50 and travelled through unknown mountain ranges, passing KOWON, KUMHWA and HWACHON between Nov 50 and Dec 50, arriving CHUK NYONG on 15 Jan 51.

6. PERSONALITIES:

LEE Ho (리호), Maj Gen, CG, II Corps, 2nd Division.
KANG Ki Bo (강기보), Lt Col, Chief of Engineer Section and Eng Bn CO, 2nd Div, Engineer Section.
PW heard that above Lt Colonel KANG was killed in action 20 Jan 51.

7. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
2nd Division personnel only had ammo which they had brought from KANGGYE.
They obtained food in occupied villages.
No regular food and ammo supplies.

8. MORALE:
Morale was low because of the cold weather.
Many NK soldiers are ill.
The long mountain marches were taking their toll.

9. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE (Special EEI No. 10):
