150th Div composed of the 448th, 449th, and 450th Regiments and other units.
449th Regiment was composed of 3 Rifle Bn’s and other unknown units.
1st Bn was composed of 3 Rifle Co’s, HMG Company, and Signal Unit.

As of 18 Jan 51, the 150th Div had not been in ground combat since arriving in KOREA.
150th Div suffered only few casualties from UN air strikes.

4. LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES OF UNITS: (as of 18 Jan 51)
On 181500 Jan 51, the 1st Bn, 449th Regt which was located on a hill approx 1 Km North of KUMYANG JANG-NI (CS4122) was attacked by 2 US tanks. The battalion dispersed and fled.
PW heard from his platoon leader that the 150th Div Hq was located 8 Km north of KUMYANG JANG-NI.
PW has no knowledge of the mission of the objective of CCF or NKA units.

5. PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
PW was conscripted for the CCF 50th Army at CHENGTU (成都) on 5 Jan 50.
During Feb 50, PW and 10,000 others conscripted for the 50th Army, marched to HUPEI (湖北). At HUPEI PW and approximately 5,000 others received intensive indoctrination on Communism until Nov 50.
During early Nov 50, PW and 5,000 others departed HUPEI on train and arrived at a place near ANTUNG (安東) o/a 20 Nov 50. At this place PW and 5,000 others were officially assigned to the CCF 50th Army.
The entire 50th Army arrived in ANTUNG (安東) o/a 23 Nov 50.
O/a 24 Nov 50, the 148th and 149th Divisions of the 50th Army crossed the YALU River from ANTUNG into KOREA.
O/a 26 Nov 50, the 150th Div crossed the YALU River from ANTUNG into KOREA and marched to PAENGMA (XE 3236).
O/a 27 Nov 50, the 150th Div marched to YANGSI (XE 2627).
O/a 1 Dec 50, the 150th Div departed YANGSI and marched southward through PYONGYANG (o/a 20 Dec 50) and SEOUL (o/a 9 Jan 51) and arrived at a village 8 Km North of KUMYANG JANG-NI (CS4122) o/a 12 Jan 51.
On 16 Jan 51 PW’s battalion which was located on a hill approx 1 km North of KUMYANG JANG-NI was attacked by tanks. The unit dispersed and fled but PW remained behind and was captured.
PW claims that his company underwent only one UN air strike o/a 7 Jan 51 between PYONGYANG and SEOUL.

6. REPLACEMENTS:
The 150th Div never received replacements since coming to KOREA. Other details unknown.

7. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
Food obtained from villages.
When available, 4 days ration were procured and carried with the unit while marching. Rations usually consisted of rice, millets, corn, and kaoliang.
Approximately 10 horse-cart loads (with 3 horses to each cart) of reserve ammo was brought with the 1st Bn, 449th Regt. Small arms ammo comprised the majority of the load.
No ammo supplies to the 150th Div since entering KOREA.
Ammo was last issued o/a 20 Nov 50; rifleman received 60 rds and each LMG was issued 2,000 rds. None of this ammo has been expended.

8. ARMOR AND ARTILLERY:
O/a 20 Dec 50 at PYONGYANG PW observed 5 Artillery pieces (PW estimates 120mm) each being drawn southward by trucks.

9. MORALE:
The morale of the 150th Div troops low because the troops were tired and did not want to fight. Troops were complaining about the coldness, but PW states that there was not a single case of frozen feet in his company.

10. SIGNAL INFORMATION:
Telephones were utilized for communications between battalions and regiments. Lower echelons used runners.

11. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE:
a. Did you surrender voluntarily? If so, why?
a. PW was captured when he remained behind after his unit withdrew.
b. Did you see any United Nations leaflets, or hear any loudspeaker broadcasts?
a. Yes, on 14 Jan 51, 2 Km North of KUMYANG JANG-NI (CS4122).
c. Can you describe what they said?
a. No. PW cannot read.
d. What was your reaction to them?
a. Negative.
e. Did you hear other soldiers discuss leaflets or broadcasts? What did they say or do?
a. Negative.
