2. ASSESSMENT:
PW appeared in good physical condition, relaxed, and talked freely. Information reliable.

3. T/O & E STRENGTH:
II Corps was composed of 6th, 9th, and 15th Divs.
15th Division was composed of 3 Infantry Regiments (3rd and 2 other Regts) and Arty Regt.
3rd Regt was composed of 3 Inf Bn.
1st Bn was composed of 3 Rifle Cos, Mortar Co, HMG Co, Signal Plat, and 1 Medical Plat.
Mortar Co was composed of 3 Mortar Plats.
Each Plat was composed of 3 Squads.

PW’s unit has not suffered any casualties since it left KOSODONG (BA6237). Only 1 officer deserted the unit during the southward march.

4. PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
PW was inducted into the NKA at KYOMIPO (YO3090) 12 Oct 50 into the 18th Regt, 4th Div. On the same day, the 4th Div marched via mountain trails, passing through unknown places and arrived at KO■ODONG (BA6237) on 12 Nov 50. There, PW underwent 1 month basic training.
12 Dec 50, PW was transferred to the 3rd Regt, 15th Div together with 100 others.
The 3rd Regt, 15th Div at this time had suffered heavy battle casualties. However, PW does not know of any replacements.
20 Dec 50 the 15th Div travelled southward, passing through the following places:

5 Jan 51 PW deserted his unit and tried to locate UN forces in order to surrender. PW travelled southward, wandering through unknown places and 21 Jan 51, he voluntarily surrendered to the US 35th RCT at SOJONGNI (CS 3702).

6. REPLACEMENTS:
PW claims that no replacements have been received by the 15th Division since 20 Dec 50.

7. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
Food was obtained from abandoned villages. PW states that he carried 3 days supply of food during mountain marches; he ate 2 meals which consisted of rice and kimchee per day.

8. ARMOR AND ARTILLERY:
O/a 30 Dec 50, PW observed 5 x T-34 tanks with 1 white star on the turret manned by CCF troops, at ICHON (CT 1663), headed southward. PW heard the drivers speaking Chinese.
PW observed an Arty Regt, a component of the 15th Div, located at KUMHWA (CT 6538) on 5 Jan 51. PW observed 5 x 120mm howitzers and 3 x 76mm field guns while this unit was resting there.

9. MORALE:
Morale of troops of 3rd Regt, 15th Div low because most of the men had no desire to fight and also because of lack of food and clothing. Most of the men intended to desert.

10. CCF:
While passing through SUWON (CS 2529) o/a 17 Jan 51, PW heard a Korean-speaking Chinese say that there were CCF divisions in SUWON. PW also heard that these 3 divisions were hiding in mountains around SUWON.

11. SIGNAL COMMUNICATIONS:
Telephones were used for communication between Battalion and Regiment; runners were used between Company and Battalion.

12. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE:
a. Did you surrender voluntarily? If so, why?
a. PW voluntarily surrendered for he had no desire to fight with the NKA.
b. Did you see any United Nations leaflets, or hear any loudspeaker broadcasts?
