1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
Was in good physical condition and cooperative. PW was intelligent and information obtained considered fairly reliable. Recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW joined the CNA 5 Dec 44 and served until his capture by CCF 5 Aug 49. PW was a 1st Lt in the Nationalist Army.
38th Army crossed the 38th parallel 1 Jan 51. 112th Div took the following route: POCHON-NI, SINPOL-LI CS 4788 3 Jan 51, CHONGPYONG-NI CS 6277, PALTANG-NI 9 Jan 51, then arrived at location 7 - 8 km south of TNAGPYONG CS 6749, approx 6 km west of HAN River 10 Jan 51. Div Hq is presently located there. 292100 Jan 51 PW deserted his company which was approx 12 km south of Div Hq and surrendered to the 19th RCT 300800 Jan 51.
b. PW’s Unit:
38th Army, 112th, 113th and 114th Divisions.
112th Div composed of 334th, 335th and 336th Inf Regts and one Arty Btry. 3 Bns compose each Regt and each Bn is composed of 3 Rifle Co’s and 1 HMG Co. Rifle Co is composed of 3 Rifle Plats and 1 - 60mm Mortar Plat.

Rifle Plats: 3 LMGs, 2 PPSH SMGs
60mm Mortar Plat: 2 x 60mm mortars. 25 rds of ammo per mortar. Re-issued 10 rds approx 3 days ago.
Rifle Co: 2■ U.S. made 2.5 bazookas.
HMG Co: 6 - HMG, 2 x 81mm mortars, 8 boxes (700 - 1,000 rds per box) per MG and 60 rds per mortar.
Arty Brty: 4 - Guns (similar to 76mm)

e. Intentions:
112th Div will have to fight a defensive war until they receive replacements and supplies. A political advisor informed the troops that replacements and air support is expected latter part of February when the CCF will start another offensive. Number of replacements unknown. 1 Plat leader from each Co departed for MUKDEN for replacements, 10 days ago.

f. Morale:
The morale is comparatively low. Approx 70 percent were former Nationalist soldiers. Many have read leaflets dropped by UN, however, reactions unknown to PW. Troops are afraid to discuss it.

g. Weapons Most Feared by CCF Troops:
1. Strafing
2. Arty

h. Knowledge of Other Units:
PW heard that 52nd Army was in SUWON approx 10 days ago.
