1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
The mental and physical condition of the PW was such that a coherent interrogation was unable to be conducted. The information in this report must be assessed accordingly.
Recommend for further interrogation when physical and mental conditions permit.

3. T/O & E AND STRENGTH: (As of 6 Jan 51)
II Corps: 10th Div, 6th Div and 15th Division.
PW heard that there are 5 Corps in the NKA.
10th Division: 25th, 27th and 29th Regts, Signal Co, Medical Co, Recon Co, and SMG Co.
29th Regiment: 3 Rifle Bns, Signal Co, Medical Section, Transportation Co, SMG Plat, and Recon Platoon.
3rd Battalion: 3 Rifle Companies, Transportation Plat, Recon Plat and Signal Plat.
Each Company composed of 3 Rifle Plats.
Each Platoon composed of 3 Rifle squads.

4. LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES OF UNTIS:
29th Regt Hq was located at IMHYON NI (DS 4305) on 6 Jan 51.
29th Regt has prepared defensive positions at IMHYON NI while awaiting the arrival of another II Corps unit. (Unit and mission, unknown), 6 January 1951.
PW heard that the 29th Regt Hq was located at MAEPO (梅浦) (Believed to be DR 3899) on 8 Jan 51.

5. PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
PW inducted into the North Korean Public Security at P’YONGYANG 19 Sep 50 with 300 other men and received basic military training for 15 days at P’YONGYANG.
Oct 50 a group of 50 troops retreated over a mountain range from P’YONGYANG, arriving at KANGGYE (BA 9837) o/a 12 Nov 50. The 10th Div was reorganized with a few troops from other unknown units at KANGGYE in Nov 50. Here, only the unit designation was assigned. The 10th Div was not built to full strength.
A group of 300 North Korean troops left KANGGYE 17 Nov 50, via WONSAN (CU 6545) and arrived at KAREJU MYON (Phonetic) Dec 50.
At KAREGU MYON the 10th Div was assigned troops from other deactivated units until the Div was at its present strength. KAREJU MYON was the area in which the II Corps is believed to have been reorganized Dec 50.
While traveling from KAREJU MYON to IMHYON, the following route was followed:

PW deserted from his unit at IMHYON on 6 Jan 51 because he was ill.

6. PERSONALITIES:
LEE Sung Yop (李승엽) (Former Mayor of Seoul City); Lt Gen; CG, II Corp.

7. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
PW ate an average of twice a day. Food was acquired from farmers in the villages.
No ammo supplies in the 10th Div. All ammo presently in possession of the 10th Div troops were issued at KANGGYE and KAREJU MYON.

8. MORALE:
Morale is said to be low because of the rough marches over the mountains.

9. CCF:
PW did not see any CCF troops. He had not heard of any North Korean activities in conjunction with the CCF.

10. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE:

b. Did you see any United Nations leaflets or hear any loudspeaker broadcasts?
