FIELD REPORT (24 Div - LDI - 0154) 18 January 1951

1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Subject was captured by elements of the CCF approx 20 km S of TAEGONG-NI CS 6988 on 012200 Jan 51. Taken to PW enclosure approx two hrs walk from place of capture. At this location observed approx 1,000 ROK PsW and 20 CCF guards. Interned for 7 days. No hvy wpns, tanks, or vehicles observed. During internment the following questions was asked: Unit Designation. No communist indoctrination received. On 080800 Jan 51 900 able-bodied PsW were marched to u/k location. 100 wounded and sick remained. No medical care received at any time during internment. 111000 Jan 51 received pass and 9,00 won and told to return home. Subject and 30 others departed 111300 Jan 51 and arrived TAEGONG-NI 130800 Jan 51. No CCF or NK troops observed at TAEGONG-NI. Departed TAEGONG-NI 130830 Jan 51 and arrived u/k village on 131800 Jan 51 via SANGCHON-NI CS 6481 and CHONGPYONG-NI CS6077 (separated from the 30 other SKA troops) and CHONGPYONG-NI CS6077 (separated from the 30 other SKA troops) time and date u/k. Stayed at u/k village overnight and departed 141100 Jan 51 and arrived another u/k village 8 km NE of SEOUL 15199 Jan 51. En route observed no CCF, hvy wpns, vehicles, or tanks. At u/k village observed 10 CCF troops armed with rifles. Departed u/k village 160700 Jan 51 for KWANGJU CS4049 arriving 161900 Jan 51. Enroute observed no CCF, hvy wpns, or vehicles. At KWANGJU observed one squad CCF armed with rifles. No hvy wpns observed at this location. Departed 170600 Jan 51 and arrived ICHON 171300 Jan 51. Enroute observed no enemy troops or hvy wpns. At ICHON on 1781300 Jan 51 observed one squad of CCF troops armed with rifles. Picked up by 5th RCT 171700 Jan 51 just N of ICHON.
Interrogator Note: Subject was very hazy about his dates. Suffering from bad case of frostbitten feet. Subject was below average intelligence.
Attached is a translation of the Safe Conduct Pass.

The bearer of this pass, Pvt LEE Te Hee, was wounded and taken prisoner during battle. The bearer has been issued traveling expense and this pass at headquarters in order that he may return home.
