2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was not very well informed for an NCO and was not inclined to reveal information. Fairly reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
28 Jul 50 Inducted into NKA and attached to newly formed 106th Regiment of II Corps. After a months training, the Regiment was sent to SEOUL to procure and train the young men of that city. Unit retreated when UN forces started their offensive and regrouped in the ICHON (伊川) area. About 500 men reached here. Stragglers were absorbed by this unit until it had almost a complete Regiment.
20 Dec 50 106th Regiment was absorbed by 27th Division at HWACHON (華川). Personnel were spread throughout the Division.
o/a 1 Jan 51 Unit crossed 38th parallel at INJE (隣蹄) area. Unit marched past HONGCH’ON into WONJU.
7 Jan 51 0400 At this time, 7th Regiment’s 1st Bn, 2 companies of the 3rd Bn, and elements of the 6th and 38th Divisions entered the city without opposition. However, upon discovering signs of enemy, the unit attempted to withdraw, running into US forces who virtually annihilated the unit. PW and 4 others surrendered.

4. GENERAL:
Communications:
Runners were used between companies and battalions.

Morale:
PW had never seen a propaganda leaflet. Entire unit’s morale was low.
