2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative, but of low mentality. Information considered reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
25 Aug 50: Conscripted at HONGCH’ON (洪川) assigned to 6th Div, 15th Regt Hq, supply section.
15 Sep 50: 15 Regt arrived at KUNHWA (金華) and received basic training.
Nov 50: 15th Regt arrived at HICH’ON Gun (熙川郡) and received additional training. PW and men of the supply section confiscated food from villages for their own use. Later PW was transferred to 2nd Bn, 6th Co as a rifleman.
7 Jan 51: 2nd Bn arrived at outskirt of WONJU at approx 0500 hrs, 5th and 6th Co took cover on the side of road and waited for reinforcements from the 4th Co and an arty Co, however, the reinforcement did not arrive and the 5th and 6th Cos were forced to retreat.
PW and approx 32 men were captured by UN forces while retreating.

Regts - Finance Plat, Security Plat, Communication Plat, Antitank Rifle Plat, Supply Section, Medical Section and 3 Rifle Bns.

Unit Duties:
As of Nov 50, PW was assigned to the 15th Regt food supply section which consisted of approx 7 men. Food was provided only to 15th Regt Hq (300 men) from this supply section. Food was confiscated from villages near the Regt. Ox carts and men were used for transporting food supplies when Regt moved.

Communications:
Communication from Div down to Co was by telephone.

Knowledge of Other Unit:
PW hard the 38th Div (NK Unit) was located in the vicinity of HONGCH’ON (洪川).

Morale:
Morale of the men was low because of the insufficient supply of food the cold and bombardment by UN forces.
