3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
9 Sep 49: Assigned as Pvt to Military Mail Bureau (軍事郵便局) through examination. This bureau was located in P’YONGYANG. Engaged in sorting military mail.
29 Mar 50: Transferred to “Military Food Procurement Section” directly under the War Department of North KOREA. Promoted to Jr Sgt.
28 Jun 50: This section went SEOUL by truck.
9 Sep 50: Started retreating on orders of II Corps commander.
25 Nob 50: Reached P’YONGAN PUKTO, KANGGYE-GUN, KANGGYE-UP (平安北道 江界郡 江界邑) after walking for two months.
27 Nov 50: Assigned to 6th Regt, 2nd Div. This unit lost almost all its troops (about 70%). This unit reorganized at KANGGYE (江界), three regiments (3rd, 4th, 6th), and on the same night, unit started south.
25 Dec 50: Reached KWANGWONDO, HONGCH’ON (江原道 洪川).
28 Dec 50: Captured at HONGCH’ON (洪川).

f. Disposition:
When last observed (19 Dec 50), 2nd Div was in vicinity of KANGWONDO, HWACH’ON (江原道 化川). 6th Regt was in KANGWONDO HONGCH’ON (江原道 洪川), 20 miles SE of CHUNCH’ON(春川).

g. Morale:
Low in the 6th Regt because of high losses through air attacks and shortage of food, clothes and ammunition.

h. Supply:
Each man carried 4 days ration and 200 rounds ammunition for small arms. No Arty unit, no vehicles and no ammunition depots.
