PW often contradicted and hesitated in answering. Reliability - Poor

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
29 Jul 50: Inducted into NK Army as Pvt. Received no basic training.
Sep 50: Assigned to 9th Div at TAEJON (大田).
20 Sep 50: 9th Div, Arty Regt, 3rd Bn advanced to CHONJU (全州).
28 Sep 50: Bn moved to KOCH’ANG (居昌).
Oct 50: Retreated northward.
20 Oct 50: 9th Div assembled at P’YONGCH’ANG (平昌) and continued retreat.
25 Oct 50: Retreated to KUMSONG (金城).
20 Nov 50: PW went AWOL from his unit in KUMSONG.
30 Nov 50: Caught by his unit in the vicinity of YAKSU-MYON (若水面) Noticed after his return to his unit that the strength had decreased during his absence.
3 Dec 50: Promoted to Jr Sgt
9 Dec 50: Arty Regt, 3rd Bn, retreated north. PW stayed behind and was captured by the UN Forces.

Remarks:
The Arty Regt, 3rd Bn was not armed the same as the 1st and 2nd Bn was because 3rd Bn consisted of inexperienced personnel only. PW heard that 3rd Bn formerly consisted of trained EM but it had been annihilated. Heard that the new 3rd Bn was organized in July 1950.

WANG, Song Sik (왕성식), Korean, Ass’t Co Co (副中隊長), Lt (中尉), 23, Height: 1.65m, Weight: 65kg, Build: Average, Complexion: Dark, Single, Last Seen: YAKSU-MYON (若水面), Date: 8 Dec 50, PW heard that this man was hospitalized after being wounded on the morning of 8 Dec 50.

f. Intentions:
9th Div was to destroy all roads leading north after retreat.

g. Morale:
Low because unit was poorly equipped and firearms were of poor quality.

No replacements known to PW.

i. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
PW heard that there was a temporary hospital in the division but he did not know the location. Men with serious wounds were taken to the hospital on stretchers.

j. Supply:
Each soldier carried 3 days rations, troops having rifles carried 10 rounds of ammunition.
