2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was of average intelligence but information very limited. Reliability - fair.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
17 Aug 50: Sent to CHINNAMP’O and inducted into NKA. Received basic training.
30 Aug 50: Sent south as replacement with an unidentified unit but unit scattered when the UN offensive started in Sep.
6 Nov 50: Was “captured” by NKA and inducted into the 10th Div, 25th Regt at YANGGU MYON (DT 1018).
8 Dec 50: Surrendered to ROK forces.

Equipment:
Other than a few SMGs all troops of the 3rq Bn carried rifles. A shortage of ammo existed as there was no way to replenish supplies except to capture them.

Unit Location and Activities (8 Dec 50)
25th Regt was dispersed in and around CHONGPYONGNI (CT 9600) after withdrawing from CHUNCHON (CS 6892) o/a 2 Dec 50 after engaging ROK Forces there.

Communication:
Communication between Bn and Regt Hq was by a telephone but runners were used in most cases.

Morale:
Most of the PW’s fellow soldiers had no will to fight as there was no hope of victory.
Most soldiers fear the effects of the CCF coming into KOREA. The coming of the CCF to aid N KOREA was widely heralded by the cultural officers.
Did you surrender voluntarily? Yes. If so, why? Because so many of PW's fellow soldiers were dying (over ½ of the PW’s platoon were gone) and in danger of annihilation.
Did you see any UN propaganda leaflets? Yes (once). Can you describe them? It said that the UN force would not kill any PWs nor mistreat its enemy.
What was your reaction? The officers lectured the men that the above were lies and PW did not know what to think.
Did you hear other soldiers' discussions of the propaganda leaflets? No, due to the fact that soldiers feared the Red elements among them and would not talk.
Most of the PW's fellow soldiers would desert their unit at the first opportunity.

4. REMARKS:
25th Regt was called the KUM KANG SAN (IN: Diamond mountain) (金剛山) Unit.
